Mixed Loads
Mixed loads are shipments that contain both regulated and exempt commodities. This can present a challenge for logistics companies, as the two types of commodities must be managed in different ways. For example:
- regulated commodities may need to be shipped in temperature-controlled vehicles,
- while exempt commodities can be shipped in regular trucks.
Mixed loads can also refer to shipments that contain multiple types of commodities, all of which are regulated or all of which are exempt. In this case, the challenge for logistics companies is to ensure that the different types of commodities are properly segregated and do not mix together.
Mixed loads can be a complex challenge for logistics companies to manage, but they are not impossible to handle. With careful planning and execution, mixed loads can be shipped safely and efficiently.
