Hopper Cars
Hopper cars are railroad freight cars that permit top loading and bottom unloading of bulk commodities. The majority of hopper cars have a permanent top with hatches to provide protection against the elements, which also allows for quick loading and unloading.
Hopper cars are commonly used in the transportation of:
- coal,
- ore,
- and other materials that can be easily loaded and unloaded from the bottom of the car.
Thanks to their design, hopper cars can quickly move large quantities of goods, making them an important part of any logistics operation.
