Carrier Certificate and Release Order

A Carrier Certificate and Release Order is used to advise customs of the shipment’s details. By means of this document, the carrier certifies that the firm or individual named in the certificate is the owner or consignee of the cargo.

A carrier certificate is a document issued by the US Department of Transportation (DOT) that certifies that a company is authorized to transport cargo between two points. A release order is a document issued by the DOT that authorizes a company to release cargo at a specific destination. Both documents are required for international shipments.

A company must have a carrier certificate in order to transport cargo internationally. The certificate indicates that the company is authorized to transport goods between two points and has met all of the DOT’s requirements. The certificate also includes the company’s contact information, so that customs officials can reach out if there are any problems with the shipment.

A release order is also required for international shipments. The order authorizes a company to release cargo at a specific destination. This document ensures that the company is releasing the cargo to the correct party and helps to prevent fraud.
