Intrastate Commerce
Intrastate commerce is the transportation of persons or property between points within a state. A shipment between two points within a state may be interstate if the shipment had a prior or subsequent move outside of the state and the shipper intended an interstate shipment at the time of shipment.
Advantages of Intrastate Commerce:

Disadvantages of Intrastate Commerce:

- Another disadvantage of intrastate commerce is that businesses may have to pay more for shipping costs. Since businesses will have to ship goods to multiple locations within the state, they will likely have to pay more in shipping costs than if they only shipped interstate. This can cut into the profits of the business and make it more difficult to compete with other businesses that ship interstate.
In order for a logistics company to provide intrastate shipping services, it must have proper licensing from the Surface Transportation Board (STB). The STB is responsible for regulating interstate commerce and ensuring that companies comply with federal regulations.
