Master Air Waybill (MAWB)

The Master Air Waybill (MAWB) is a bill of lading issued by air carriers to their customers. The MAWB typically contains the following information:

  • the name and address of the shipper,
  • the name and address of the consignee,
  • a description of the goods being shipped,
  • the weight of the shipment,
  • the number of pieces in the shipment,
  • the airway bill number,
  • the routing information.

The MAWB is a key document in the international air shipping process. It is used to track the shipment and to ensure that it reaches its destination safely. The MAWB is also used to invoice the shipper for the cost of the shipment.
